FARAH CREST: The aerial drone’s not picking up any heat signatures on the ship’s deck, so you should be good to go.
ETRICIA FANTOS: I hope that drone of yours is accurate, or I’ll be walking into one hell of a mess.
FC: Maybe you should’ve had that costume on before you went into the sub.
EF: And chance it getting wet? I’ll put it on when I get inside the ship.
FC: So I was right. That fancy outfit isn’t waterproof.
EF: Water can disrupt the suit’s circuitry and, for all I know, this little sub of yours might spring a leak.
FC: I’ll have you know that’s state-of-the-art tech you’re riding in. Not to mention very expensive.
EF: Yeah, an expensive state-of-the-art coffin. This thing handles like shit.

INITIATE INFILTRATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A pirate ship with trillions of Samolians in booty on board and they don’t have guards and lookouts every five feet on deck watching for attackers? Sloppy security.
Personally I would’ve parked the sub in a more inconspicuous area of the ship–a blind spot if you will. The side of the ship is no good as anyone can look over the side and see the sub. The stern of the ship on the other hand might be a better choice as it starts to narrow nearer towards the propellers. Like so: https://www.canstockphoto.com/general-cargo-ship-stern-58574330.html
I actually don’t think the key is where to park the sub, but where to board this ship. Her point of entry onto the boat has to be determined by where it is least likely for someone to be on guard duty and how far away a shadow or hiding spot is. Granted the drone showed no heat signatures, but they could be wearing a stealth suit of some sort (not likely, but it’s something she might consider).
As for the sub, considering Teslas today, the sub probably has an “auto-park” feature where it closes the hatch and submerges several feet. Then she has to “auto-summon” it to bring it back (possibly repositioning itself to approximately where she is on the ship). Thus, seeing the sub from the ship is not an issue.
That would work as well.
The hard part about subs isn’t keeping them submerged and hidden, it’s getting them to stop being submerged and hidden…
That’s why we trained to’sink’ subs, not ‘surface’ them 😉
